Inside Llewyn Davis, the latest effort from the Coen Brothers, tells the story of a singer-songwriter during the folk music scene in 1960s New York. This beat-era seems especially in vogue at the moment, with Daniel Radcliffe playing Allen Ginsberg in John Krokidas’ Kill Your Darlings. Unlike the aforementioned Kill Your Darlings which features a truly laborious accented-effort from Radcliffe, Insided Llewyn Davies looks set to be beautifully shot and entirely engaging (reminiscent of my favourite Coen Brothers’ film A Serious Man in style).
Admittedly, just seeing the name Coen Brothers attached to a project is enough to pique my interest. That, combined with a stellar cast that includes Carey Mulligan, Oscar Issac and Justin Timberlake, means that I am truly looking forward to their latest offering.
