Little Birds – trailer

Piquing my interest purely from the producer credits (Jamie Patricof has previously produced both Half Nelson and Blue Valentine), Little Birds, directed by Elgin James, appears to be a film of similar ilk.

Coming-of-age dramas can vary wildly in quality: when done well, they can be both profound and thought-provoking; poorly produced, they can prove to feel tired and overly clichéd. Little Birds, primarily from Patricof’s involvement fills me with the hope that it will be a well-made addition to the coming-of-age film genre.

Juno Temple, starring as one of two friends who experience a summer together, has proven herself in such roles as her performance in Atonement, and I have confidence in her abilities to ensure the film surpasses and avoids any sense of cliché.
