Signalling the end of the Batman franchise as far as Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale are concerned, The Dark Knight Rises trailer further highlights the hitherto excellent marketing campaign executed by the Nolan series, wonderfully whetting the appetite of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the latest instalment.
Giving little plot detail away, the trailer, set eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, features both Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Despite my initial tentative reservations, Hathaway’sCatwoman looks promising, both suitably sexy and powerful. Hardy’s Bane delivers a threatening force: much of the discussion surrounding Bane’s appearance in previews has commented on the difficulty to understand Hardy’s dialogue, hindered by the mask he wears. Certainly his dialogue is not entirely clear in the trailer, but this issue will hopefully be rectified in time for the film’s release.
