Shame – Trailer

Garnering near-enough universal acclaim since its premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival, Steve McQueen’s Shame features a truly impressive cast: Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan, both riding high off recent financial and critical successes.

If the critical acclaim, the cast and the director weren’t enough, this week’s release of a wonderfully constructed trailer simply further cements my very real anticipation.

Interspersing scenes of sexual desire and lust with scenes of Fassbender’s Brandon frantically running: as if to outrun his impulses, the visceral nature of the trailer helps demonstrate the obsessive, destructive nature of Brandon’s compulsive addiction. Needless to say, with a great trailer and an excellent poster campaign (see below), I am really looking forward to Shame.
