Having not directed a feature film since the average Elizabeth Town in 2005, Cameron Crowe returns with We Bought a Zoo, based upon the memoir by Benjamin Mee.
Matt Damon stars as a single father struggling to bring up his two children; seeking a new start, he moves to the countryside, buying a property which entails the ownership of a Zoo. Scarlett Johansson also stars, presumably as a suitable love interest for Damon.
Crowe is known for his often saccharine approach to film and We Bought a Zoo looks to be no exception. Judging by the trailer alone, Crowe’s latest looks, to me at least, dull, unexciting and uninspired.
