With a stellar cast and Let the Right One In’s director Tomas Alfredson at the helm, the adaptation of the John Le Carré novel, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy truly excites.
Arguably, Alfredson’s film certainly possesses one of the most exciting casts of recent years, including: Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Jones and John Hurt amongst others. All fine actors, either at the top of the game, or swiftly emerging as impressive talents.
Alfredson has shown himself to be more than adept at creating sparse tension, and I have real confidence that Alfredson is more than capable of directing a big budget film. With such a strong cast, I have no doubts as to the ability of those involved; my only concern is with such expectations can the film really live up to its promise?
